Yashasvi Jaiswal made his international debut in the test series against West Indies in July 2023, and outshined his ability by scoring a century on the first day itself. He is the third Indian Player to do so after Rohit Sharma and Prithvi Shaw.

He gave a lot of respect to James's bowling."

Former Cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said, “It wasn't like JImmy Anderson didn’t bowl much, he did. I don’t think a single boundary was hit against him by Jaiswal. That is maturity.”

Even the former England Skipper Alastair Cook, praised Jaiswal saying “absolutely outstanding” and he also added, “He has delivered when his team needed it. It was an inning of maturity and skill beyond his maturity of 22 years.
